Terms & Conditions of Service
Move Mate SA – Terms & Conditions of Service
1. Transit Insurance & Liability
Move Mate SA provides limited goods-in-transit insurance for major incidents only (e.g., fire, hijacking, vehicle theft, or road accident). This insurance excludes all other risks, including scratches, dents, minor damages, and breakages. All items are transported entirely at the client’s risk, unless covered separately by the client’s own insurer. Move Mate SA shall not be liable for any incidental, indirect, or consequential loss or damage, regardless of the cause.
2. Client’s Insurance Responsibility
Clients must notify their insurer in writing of the relocation date and confirm coverage for goods during transit. Move Mate SA assumes no responsibility for lapses in the client’s personal or business insurance.
3. Valuables & Personal Items
Clients must remove or personally safeguard all valuables, including but not limited to cash, jewelry, watches, laptops, passports, confidential documents, and sentimental items. Move Mate SA will not accept liability under any circumstances for the loss of or damage to such items, whether packed or not.
4. Packing Standards
All small, loose, or fragile items must be properly boxed before the move. Fragile or high-value electronics (e.g., TVs, computers, kitchen appliances) must be packed in original or professional-grade packaging. Items not packed to this standard will be transported strictly at the client’s own risk. No liability will be accepted for any damage to inadequately packed items.
5. Protective Materials & Responsibility
Protective blankets are used where practical. If further protection is required (e.g., plastic wrap, bubble wrap, mattress covers), it is the client’s duty to supply such materials before the move begins. Our staff will assist in applying them if available on-site.
6. Payment Terms
Full payment is required on the day of service. No part of the move is deemed complete until payment is made in full. Payments can be made via cash or instant EFT directly to the driver. Delays in payment may result in a withholding of goods or additional fees.
7. Claims & Disputes
Any claims or disputes must be submitted in writing within 24 hours of completion of the move. Claims made after this period will not be considered. All claims must be accompanied by photographs and a clear description of the issue.
8. Acceptance of Terms
By booking with Move Mate SA, the client acknowledges and accepts these Terms & Conditions in full. Any changes or exceptions must be confirmed in writing prior to the move. Verbal agreements or assumptions are not binding.
9. Acceptance of Terms
By accepting a quotation or confirming a booking with Move Mate SA, the client agrees to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
